Security
Manufactured from "honeycomb" extruded aluminium, the main shutter sections are 150mm wide by 14mm thick.These are set into a full security frame also manufactured from extruded aluminium.

Trouble free
Stove enamelled finish retains its colour and resists abrasion and knocks. Shutter leaves are top hung with tandem plastic rollers with stainless steel roller shafts. These rollers are locked onto the top guide rail. Plastic security guides are fitted to the bottom of the shutter leaves and are locked into the bottom guide rail. Both top and bottom guides are fitted with nylon brush sealing strips.

The closing edge panels of each shutter door are specially shaped to provide a deep overlap to resist forced entry. The two shutter doors are closed by a high impact "over center" latch.

Plastic latches are fitted to hold the shutter leaves when open.

Inside/Outside
Although normally fitted internally, Mel-Tec folding shutters can be fitted outside where windows open inwards or up.

All Mel-Tec folding security shutters are manufactured to the exact size of your window. Each shutter is a fully assembled and tested to ensure trouble free operation. At the point of maufacture, it is carefully packed (with all the necessary fixings) to ensure it arrives at its destination in perfect condition.
